I saw a repro of one of his guns go for 1800.00 the other day on GB....Parker made it back in 1972-74 with the same "scales" that were used in original production back in 1852.....Whitworth was a smart man and was well beyond his time...he made tools that could measure 1,000,000th of an inch...Rossman or anyone else might want to add or share ..please do....

Thanks Deadeye...I had found a few video's about the gun and there were actually a few hits over 1000 yds with these guns....Whitworth came up with a hexagonal bullet and rifling in his barrels....They performed more than twice as good as anything before....His history got my interest as he was an innovator like what our boards members are....
