It took a call to an old friend to find y'all, but I'm so glad that I did. I'm a 30-something husband and father of two from west-central Indiana (Putnam County). Archery is my first love, but I've been hooked on SML-ing since I purchased my fist Savage 10ML II in 2006. I had the honor of attending Jeff's first ever KY Challenge, where I do believe I was the only person shooting saboted loads!

I wondered where you were. Very impressed with the way you shot those sabotless loads, and prone besides. Good to have you here. I also like your hat.

You meant "saboted" but yeah, that was me... the guy in the odd floppy hat shooting prone way down at the end of the range, using those antiquated plastic sabots. What a memory you have! Or, perhaps I'm just a really weird dude who stood out so badly that made me impossible to forget.

Welcome to Hanks message board. Maybe you'll try some sabotless loads sometime.

Welcome to Hanks message board. Maybe you'll try some sabotless loads sometime. Oh, I've been there. I stopped development though because I was getting some gas cutting on my breach plug (modified Savage style bushing plug). I've got a full-form die, about 800 .458 bullets, wool wads, fiber wads, and about 10 varieties of powders to shoot sabotless. I was having great success with the 300 grain class of .458 bullets and big charges of 3031, but the gas cutting had me suspend further testing... until I get a new gun built with a rear sealing plug. That's my next quest, so I'm trying to get caught up on what's been developing in the past year or so.

Welcome aboard Alan, I was wondering what happened to you. I hadn't seen any post from you. Hope to see you back at one of the Kentucky Challenge shoots in the future. The last two shoots have been a lot of fun.
