.40 cal 175 & 195 knight terminal performance
I have a couple hundred of these that I got somewhere a long time ago. I decide to shoot the 175 in a used T/C 1:20 twist that I got last year. They group well with 84 gr by weight of BH209 @ about 2450. It would be used in the woods where the longest shoot would be 100-150 yards. Mostly to shoot does for meat.
How is the terminal performance? What FPS to make sure they expand.
My Labradar gave them a sea level .166 BC
Here are the velocities
Yds-FPS 0-2450 50-2185 100-1937 150-1707 200-1499
Thanks

Knight has had quite a few different bullets they have packaged under their name over the years, so I don't recall. Are these all copper bullets?
I once had some Knight all copper bullets that were 150gr that never made it to the general market. They looked like a short version of the Barnes 195gr bx. At a muzzle velocity of just over 2400fps, they opened up very well at 75yds.

Yes they are all copper, I think I got them in bulk off the internet, they look like the ones on Knight's website. If they open good it would be s nice load for my T/C for a treestand

I used to shoot the 195's out of my knight muzzleloader. 150 grs of pellets and they shot pretty good. I shot 6 or 7 deer with them and cant remember one taking a step after being hit with one.

Sounds good, thanks I am getting under 1"groups with an occasional flyer 1"out of group, I think I might try them next year I still have a handfull of the knights 180,220, 195, and 300gr left. all made by barnes bullets, I think. My Grandson shoots them, in 2017, out of his treestand, he killed 1buck 185lbs on the hoof with 180gr, 2 very large dry does, each over 200lbs on the hoof 1 with 195, other with 220, at about 70 or so yards, they all dropped in their tracks..

Barnes sold the 175s until a few years ago. Now they are only available through Knight.
