The reason I'm asking is because my Apex 45-70 loads .451 XTP's and others perfectly from the front with just a jab from the bullet starter then its smooth all the way down but I prefer to order a new barrel and have it sent directly to Jeff to do his magic tho. So can I count on most of them being the same nominal diameter at the lands?

it will likely be close BUT every barrel is different, don't count on it being the same. I have sized thousands of bullets for many many different barrels of the same manufacture and there are rarely two that a given bullet will fit perfectly in two barrels?
I hope you get lucky and its exact but don't count on it....

Hillbill is dead on with his comments. I had dealings with2 bergara 45/70 and they were virtually identical but id say that's rare. A couple ten thousandths of a inch will be the difference in great fit to tight or loose

Thanks guys I kinda figured that, guess I was dreaming too much. Dang I hate to give up this barrel in 45-70 mode cause it will put my cast 405gr (lee mold) with 26gr of IMR4759, a Berrys 350gr with 29gr Of IMR 4759 and a Hornaday leverevolution 325ftx all in the same spot at 100yrd with no scope adjustments.

I have one already for my cva optima elite conversion but that barrel is .403 at the lands so I resize .458 bullets.I thought it would be cool to have one that could shoot .451 right out of the box tho.
