Its a week into Indianas gun season. I have let several does walk hoping a buck was following. I let doe-fawn groups go, and some smaller bucks. Finally decided it was time to stop holding back and take some meat. Of course, at that point I didnt see anything. Lol. Starting to get a little run down, I was about to back out and give it a break. I pulled a round of camera cards for the heck of it and wow, the deer were there. So I layed the heat back on, and took this fine deer finally. I worked up a load in my 270 Encore with a pbr out to 350yds. Then of course, I shoot him at 30yds. Lol.  |

Thanks fellas. I put more hours on stand this year than ever. Part of that is maturing, patience, having faith in your spots, and being able to check cams to see whats in the area. My wife says that parts cheating, but it doesnt shoot the deer for you, it drives you to hunt harder, imo.

That's the way it goes,you practice for long shots and the deer walks under your stand.
