Hey fellas been looking at several different rifle makers trying to decide which rifle i should buy next. It will just be used for deer hunting. Here is a few of the rifles i have been looking at, just wanted to see which rifle yall would go with if you was buying one. Like to be in the 1500$ an less price range. But would possibly be willing to go a little more.
Bergara b14 Christensen Arms Mesa Kimber Hunter Tikka T3x Superlite
The rifle i have used for last few years for deer hunting was a 25.06, i really liked that caliber. But for the last little while it seems everyones all talking about the 6.5 creedmor rifles. Which caliber would yall choose the 25.06 or 6.5? Just for a all around deer hunting caliber.

Are you a reloader? The selection of bullets in .264 caliber is tremendous. That right there, along with the availability of Creedmoore cases and solid performance, would make my decision for me on your cartridge of choice.
In addition to the Creedmoore being a short action cartridge, with the 25-06 needing a long action. That being said both cartridges are excellent choices for the job you have for them. It's all personal preference, wether or not you reload, and ammunition availability if you don't.

In western Ky you will likely have the opportunity for some long pokes, the creed is a good choice but probably one of the best all around choices would in in the 7mm lineup. 7-08 for a short action ( excellent round ) 280 or & mag. for low recoil the 7-08 gets the nod. I have both the 6.5 creed and 7-08, a big buck will never know the difference. there is a ton of great ammo out for both calibers these days, take your pick. for the really long bean fields the 7 mag would be the go to round. Lots of good choices!

I picked up a Christensen Arms Ridgeline in 6.5 CM earlier this year and it has quickly become my favorite rifle to shoot. It is very accurate with the Hornady Precision Hunter ammo loaded with the 143ELD X. Cant wait to test it out on a whitetail!
Have shot a Rem Sendero in 7 mag for years and love that caliber as well.

Believe it or not I only have 2 CF rifles and they are specialists. A CZ in 17 REM for fur hunting and a 308 Win barrel for my Encore for that elusive Western hunt. Do all my hunting with my SMLs and shotguns. Hunting buddy is a young, 40ish, Marine out of active duty. He shoots up to 500 with his current favorite, 6.5 Creedmore. Being a working guy like most of us it's a Savage. Shot sub moa out the box with his handloads. He said the secret is having great glass and good bags! I would have to stick with one of my SML with a 45 Brux. I've shot the creedmore and it is really accurate and delivers those rocketship bullets right on target even for me. My information and opinion. Good hunting. 10

The 6.5 Creedmoore is the hot ticket at the moment. The debate on cartridges will go on for eternity.... There's a reason the Creedmoore has become such a saught after cartridge. It's performing well on the range, particularly with high BC bullets at extended distances. Some case designs inherently have a tendency to shoot more accurately than others. Case capacity, how much capacity is used, length of the neck, shoulder angle etc. All have an affect on how the powder burns. Some case designs are not only more efficient/consistent but just tend to shoot better. There's always a "latest and greatest" cartridge on the market. The Creedmoore has been around some 10 years now. It hasn't become popular because of its lack of success.
It wouldn't let you down on a whitetail. Of course neither will a 7-08, 280, 25-06, 7 mag, 270, 257 Roberts, 28 Nosler.... Yada-yada. Provided the bullet finds the right spot on the animal. After all it is the projectile that kills the deer, not the rifle case it's fired from. Lol. Happy hunting! For both your rifle and whitetails!

A 280 Improved, custom action, carbon wound barrel, and a stock of your liking. That sounds like a rifle that can go on any hunt in the US and not be under gunned. It should also be a rifle not to heavy for deer hunting in Kentucky. Ok not my first pic for costal bears. In 40 years you can still look at it and smile because it’s your idea of a perfect hunting rifle.

My next rifle will likely be a titanium action with a proof barrel, I already have the Manners carbon fiber stock to sit it in, likely a 7 SAUM so I can stick with a short action and still get some speed. these days I just don't shoot a CF much. I built a 6.5 creed last year on a model 7 action and Bartlein barrel and lots of other goodies, have not shot it in over a year?

The 6.5 CM has me excited to hunt with a centerfire again. Have only hunted with a muzzleloader for the last 4 years.

No I don't have a lot of money just a lack of common sense. Guns are my weakness, always have been I guess. I buy sell and trade guns all the time so it helps fund my addiction.
A buddy just bought a Fieldcraft and really likes it, they are really nice rifles and about as light as you care to fire. I would like to have one in 6.5x55 Swede

Yep, the Swede is what caught my eye too. So many people get on the Creed train and seem to forget the Swede will do anything it can do. Seiller and Bellot factory ammo shoots amazingly well in the ones i had in the past.
