The Is a great bull.
I talked to a sml builder that says the Emax flys better than the BEs but acts the same on game. He said they do not pass through usually at sml speeds.

From email today during the pursuit elk was a bit closer than he ranged earlier thought was rite at 200 but was 168 and shot standing off pod . Actual point of impact was high shoulder and up into spine. He did state it blown spinal column into. Didn't recover bullet he said serious grizzly country and was pressed to ger quartered up Before dark. He has been setting on carcass for several hunts watching for a grizzly. I cant say who built rifle but it is a cva apex45/70 conversion.

First I would like to congratulate Randy for getting to shoot such a nice trophy, A bull Elk like that is probably a once in a lifetime for most hunters and I can only imagine how excited he is. Second the Apex that Randy shot this big bull with was one of the first ones I converted to use my original HIS system. Looks like it worked pretty good. Congratulations again Randy.....

Looks like the bull from Ft Sill. Ft Sill had a small elk herd that was like the post commanders pets. Back in the 80s the lead bull was a big 8X8 (at least then) and stood every bit of 2 meters at the shoulder and his rack was just as wide. Later the herd got big enough and caused enough problems they allowed hunting and the herd spread into the Wichita Mountains NWR which adjoins Ft Sill .
Randy might have to raise the roof on his house to hang that rack on the wall. Big congrats!

Rite at 143 volume but recommend weighing these big charges and definitely gun specific load custom build not a over the counter Muzzleloader load.
