Just wanted to thank everyone for putting on the Challenge. Thanks to Jeff for hosting the event. Thanks to those who showed up early to get everything ready Jeff Blakely, Bill Travis, Mark Vincent, and Kyle Pittman I’m sure I missed a few. Thank you guys for all you do. The way the world is to day it is refreshing to see there is still good men in the world. Thank You Chris Whittenburg
Chris.... You are very welcome and always invited back anytime you want to come. The shoot does take a lot of work. I started preparations on Wednesday, Steve was at the range Thursday morning at 7ish and started mowing, I got there at 10:00, bill at 11:00 or so and Jeff Blakely arrived around 3:00... We all jumped in and got it done. Bill and I had to go cut down a big shag bark hickory tree for smoking the pig with as we were totally out of wood for the smoker. We did cut enough for at least 4 cooks so we don't have to do that for a while. Setting up and tearing down is a day each, and for those that drive a long way for this event is the reason we do a three day event. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This gives the guys something to look forward to and make it worth the long drive some are willing to make. Our longest commuter at this shoot was from Maryland, that's a pretty good haul...
Thanks to everyone that came to the shoot...You are all appreciated.

I also wanna thank everyone one for all the hospitality given to me and willingness to share different ideas on loads , wads, bedding action ect . I’m always loaded with questions from being new to the game... I just wanna be apart of this family... Jeff any time you need me just call I’ll be there each and every shoot to help you prepare... looking forward to playing with the new ignition system ... thank you to all Steve
Apologies to everyone at the shoot, my back is not doing too well and I had severe lack of sleep this weekend like most there in attendance. Jeff Hankins, Jeff Blakely, Bill Travis, Mark Clemens, Steve Blankenship, Doug Schwartz and Mark Vincent kudos for getting things done.
Again, this was another excellent shoot and I appreciate the effort of all who came to help with the preparations. There are no other muzzle loader shoots to compare with the Kentucky Challenge....BAR NONE! This is a well mannered group of dedicated shooters...........NO yahoo's! I was apprehensive the first shoot I attended (this was I believe my 7th.) but by the end of that weekend, I knew I was coming back.
Agree. Thanks so much for putting this all together. I appreciate all the work prepping, cooking and cleaning up, etc.. Its hard to get there ahead of time when you have a 13 hour drive and vacation time is tight some years- so to all who put in the extra and behind the scenes effort- much appreciated. My wife and I had a great time. Good to see everyone. I hope the back straps were as good as they were last year. Hope to be back.
