Got a chance to test last evening conditions were really good. I posted that the 110gr SMK shot really well at 365yrds with a compressed load of H4350. This is what I set the tuner to. So I loaded that same load and also 10 record rounds with Varget. I shot the H4350 load first and then the Varget load which actually shot flatter than the H4350 load.
10 for record with H4350 was ugly at 1,000 yards. didn't actually measure it because there were no clusters at least 12" Big surprise was the Varget load which shot 10 shots into 4 1/2 " nice and round This the first time I have been able to get 10 of these long 110gr bullets to shoot small this would not have been possible without using the tuner.
You really do need the 1-7 twist for this bullet I have (3) 6mm Dashers all using the early X-Caliber barrels they all will shoot 4" groups or less I have (2) 10 shot groups in the 3" bracket in practice with these barrels. After they lost their top guys two years ago I stopped using their barrels I don't know if there any good at all because the shifted their focus from quality to quaintly
The 6mm Dasher is one heck of a cartridge This one is actually the new 6mm Norma Dasher case which requires no firing forming but it does require a different reamer because it has a longer neck than the 6mm using the Lapua case. 6mm Norma AOL 1.590 Lapua 1.550
I plan on putting a tuner on the 1-7 twist 6.5/284 just to see if I can make the new 150gr shoot it could work. These new long needle point bullets can be very touchy to make work and if you can't make them shoot by adjusting your powder charge and seating and neck tension then the tuner is the only other option.
