my research shows a 30mm tube will collect more light than a 1" tube, also a 50mm objective will supply more light but only at higher magnification than the eye will even use, so 44 or less is just as good and less expensive. my current muzzleloader has a leupold vx 6 3-18x50mm with fire dot reticle, I usually never have a reason to go past 12 power, so im thinking bigger is not always better. also been looking into night vision that's affordable, so ordered a kit from nvuk that uses a closed circuit tv camera with a vehicle back up camera and they highly recommend a scope with less glass coating like a Hawke or Nikko Stirling, so I am going with the Nikko 4-16x44 30mm , but with my leupold if I have reasonable light I could use it all night but only up to about 75 yards, oh yea with the nvuk you need an infrared flashlight and im going with a Evolva T-20
