What is the best deer hunting rifle besides a 30 other six? What is a good rifle for possibly hunting elk and moose?

Elk and Moose I would look at a 300 Win Mag or bigger.

I really like my 35 Whelen Rem 7600’s.

For deer anything from 243 Win up through 500 Whisper and everything in between. For elk and moose, I would start at .260 Rem and go up. I would use heavy for caliber bullets to get high sectional density to aid in penetration.

338win mag is a over looked cartridge that can now do it all but the largest most dangerous animals. Main reason I recommend the 338 win is because if have used one for 30 years. Now with the new lighter 180gr bullets it makes a great whitetail stopper my old Ruger shoots the Nosler 180gr really well at good velocity then you can go all the way up to a 300gr bullet if you want you can use heavy mag. loads or load it down it's a very versatile cartridge its to beat this old cartridge.
I have taken 3 moose with this gun and none of them took a step also killed several deer with the 200gr Speer which also drops them in there tracks. It designed for a elk rifle and it is far better on elk then a 300 win mag.

300 mag is a great rifle for deer, elk, moose!I have shot 4elk and 2moose with a 300mag and none went more then 20yrds!now If I was setting up a rifle just for elk and moose I would probably go with a 338!
