whatever the weather we will deal with it, no choice at this point, we can always warm by the fire, shoot the bull and eat! shooting is secondary. I have not fired a shot in weeks and will likely shoot a new to me powder just to see how it pans out.

Looks like the weather will be similar to what we had at the polar bear shot High of 38 and chance of snow, but that is subject to change and most likely will. We have a pretty good set up so I think we will all manage. Plenty of food, a wood burning stove and shooting will keep us all nice and toasty.
Don't forget to show up at the range Saturday morning as soon as you can. We will try to start the match by 10:00 AM. Practice from 8am to 10am.

Just a thought.......................A year or so ago we decided to make the time of year and weekend the same each year so vacations could be planned for. Somehow, we came up with the weekend after Easter being the date for the spring shoot. In the past, we had been using a date much later or at the end of April so as to get better weather. I guess it was never taken into account (myself included) that Easter could fall as early as it did this year?..............So that put the shoot in the beginning of April and as we are anticipating, some cold weather. I would like to make a suggestion that we alter that to be.....................lets say? The third or fourth weekend providing it does not interfere with Easter. Lets say Easter falls on the third weekend?........make the shoot the following weekend but otherwise keep it reserved for the third or fourth weekend. If Easter falls on the last weekend, then make it the first weekend in May. I agree the weekend can still be fun but it is more fun when it the weather is milder?........Just an old fart's opinion!

I agree 100% with you... I was going to make that suggestion this weekend at the shoot and maybe come up with a better plan for what weekend we use for the shoot. I was thinking the second weekend of Kentucky Turkey season,,, this usually falls in on the third weekend of April and it will allow us for much better weather.

My thoughts exactly Bill, think I’m gonna play with a new combination and see what happens, I’m there for the food and conversation 😂

Since the long trip in weather is keeping me away this April just checked for next year, April 2019. Seems Easter is April 21, 2019 so makes spring challenge on 27th, 4th weekend?? Is that correct?? That should be a whole lot better chance of moderate modest weather, real springtime. Sure all who are there for April 2018 shoot in the snow will have a great time, i'll check for results and report. Stay safe and shoot straight my friends, 10

Love being a coach but sometimes it sucks. Tonight's game postponed till tomorrow so I won't be able to make it. Hope you boys have a great shoot. See you in the fall!

So far everything has gone smooth. Burgers for lunch and spaghetti supreme for supper. Saw a node coming but it got away before I could catch it. Thank goodness Bill brought some turkey to go along with all of the other breakfast items. 15-20 people here already this evening, more showing up tomorrow.
