Originally planned to. A few things factored in. Shakedown run of almost 900 miles...probably no problem...but.... and got to thinking about parkin it over by the river...and if it rains like it has in the past could be a problem getting out without tearing the hell out of the range. Figuring fuel consumption and cost each way . The motel option will cost I think about 80 bucks more. And most of these items may well just be crazy ideas. After I have pulled the camper this summer I will be mor accustomed to everything involved. Drop

Looks like this will be our biggest shoot so far. We will need to get things started a little earlier Saturday morning.. I'm thinking the range will go hot for practice at 8am til 9am. Then we can start out friendly competition. Once that is done we will resume our fun shooting. Oh and we will squeeze in some time for eating................

I have been asked by a few people that are coming to the shoot - "What is a good time to arrive?" If you are coming early on Friday, a good arrival time would be 12:00 noon. I do not plan on getting to the range until around that time so the cable will be up and you can't get in. Therefore, please hold off on arriving until noon on Friday. Upon my arrival, we will need to do some necessary preparations before the range can be opened around 3:00 pm on Friday for some practice. At 6:00 or so Friday evening, we will be cooking some kind of dinner. What it will be is still up in the air, but I know what Kyle wants!!!!!!
If you are coming in on Saturday morning, you need to arrive as early as possible. This is going to be our biggest shoot to date, and we will need to get started early and be organized throughout the day. Breakfast will be started at or before day break and we will eat soon after day light. AGAIN - Please arrive as early as you can on Saturday so we can all get registered and get the match started early. I will be needing volunteers for target duty. These guys will run the targets to and from the shoot house. The Range Masters job is given to Richard Desimone, as he is our competitive bench rest shooter and attends real matches. Richard knows how these matches are supposed to run, so I leave the fundamentals up to him. Kitchen duty is assigned to Jeff Blakely, Bill Travis and Kyle Pittman, and we will need a few other helping hands in the kitchen to help with the cooking of the food. We are going to have smoked pork again on Saturday.....A BIG thanks to Doug Schwartz for donating the hog for us to enjoy. All in all it takes all of us to make this a successful shoot. I know each and every one attending will do all they can to make this the best shoot we have had so far.
Things you might want to bring............... A canopy if you have one. Some lawn chairs to sit in when you are not shooting. Bring your own drinks and maybe a covered dish. Jim Bob can't make this shoot and he always brings cold slaw so Richard will need to bring a double batch this time. One thing we never do is go away from this shoot hungry. If you have a favorite dish, feel free to bring it.
I will see you all next weekend at the range.
Thanks Jeff Hankins.

Jeff.........make sure the adjacent sighter targets (particularly for the 300 and 400 yd. segments ) are large enough so shots left or right of the small bulls on Kyle's targets, can be spotted! Last year I brought potato salad......you want coleslaw? I can do that!

For those coming to their first Kentucky Challenge, you are in for a treat. Targets from 100 to 444 Yards will be out and available for practice on Friday afternoon when Jeff Hankins gives the OK for the range to go hot. Saturday and Sunday morning breakfasts down by the creek are always first class with biscuits, deadeye gravy, bacon, ham, eggs and more. The last pig roast was great and I’m sure this one will be as well.
The Pittman Bullets mobile store with everything in stock will be there.
Jeff Hankins makes a great Italian Spaghetti sausage dish with mushrooms and other ingredients that is out of this world. I told Jeff if he would make the dish, I’d cover the cost. We just need to know how many people plan to show up Friday Evening for supper?

You did bring the best potato salad I ever had.. now I guess you will be needing to do the same with the cold slaw. Lol.. you could pass it off to your riding partner
