Need some help am looking for a low recoil load without a sabot .I am having problems with the sabot coming apart have shot 17GR of blue dot about 1700 fps and 30GR N110 2200 fps same results shoots 3 or 4 good than total miss or the bullet key holes. So I would like to just get rid of the weak link and go sabotless any help would be great thanks

I'm going to have my boy who is 12 shoot the 225 FTX out of his optima Slufoot conversion 45. I haven't decided on load yet but thinking a straight load of 4759 however I don't know where to start yet. Figured I'd look through load data.
I feel he should be good with a 150 yard shoot with the 225 FTX.

Barnes offers a .451 LC XPB in 225gr and 200gr also.

I would think you could do the same with N110.

I did some research on there other board and couldn't find anything in the load section.
I know I've seen some post loads using 4759 and lighter bullets just haven't found it.
Has anyone used straight loads and a sabotless set up? I'm thinking 25-35 grains of 4759 with the 225 will be money.

Rat that will work good for you. Just for haha's try 33gr of IMR4759 with that bullet cause its a one hole group with a 250gr bullet in one of my guns.

I've used 43gr of 4759 with a 250FTX and it wasn't that stout...it could be reduced for a youth load for sure, same as AA5744 which is just below 4759 in the burn rate chart.
I don't like to use my 4759 for straight loads as it's hard to come by.
