What would be the best all around primer for this cartridge?

When I was shooting the 7 mag it was either Federal 215 or 215M. I prefer the 215M

After blowing a 7mag apart, (I believe due to a hang fire), I would never use anything other than LRMP. I noticed on powders like RL25 and Retumbo it would have a little hesitation with just large rifle primers. Powders like RL22, H4831 did not hesitate, but after ruining a rifle that I had only shot about 30 rounds out of I only used LRMP after that with no problems. I only got some powder burn on my cheek and a sliver of brass in my thumb, but it broke the stock in 3 pieces and blew the floor plate and follower and spring out the bottom and bulged the chamber. I was shooting Retumbo with Win large rifle primers 140gr Nosler BT. I had shot this same combo other than with 160gr bullets the day before with no pressure signs and no problems. It was a lesson learned. I may be wrong about what happened but am sure of no barrel obstruction and the bullet did exit the barrel when it came apart. It blew out 1/3 of the brass around the primer pocket so it is possible bad brass too.

I use Fed 215M in all of my magnum cartridges. I have no issue igniting large charges in my 338 Lapua Mag.

Thanks guys, ill check Scheels, I looked at Cabelas online and they were sold out. The research I doing shows the Fed215m are hard to get.
Might end up with CCI Mag Rifle Primers though.

+1 more for Fed 215M primers. They're all I use in my 7 mag.

Federal 215M primers are like hen's teeth. I have about 1000 that I use specifically in my magnum rifles. The Federal 215 primers are magnum also just not match grade. I use them in my SML's that are high pressure. For the other low pressure sml's I use Winchester large rifle magnum primers.

I use mag primers in everything I load and never had a problem. So far in center'fires CCI or Wins. In my SML's fed 209a or cci mags.

Found the federal 215m primers so I bought those instead. $45 for a 1000. Sound be good.
Thanks everyone for suggestions.

Should work well! May I ask what bullet/powder you're thinking of using?
