While at the Challenge this spring there was a gentleman down at the end by the trailer( or very close to that point) I believe he was a friend of Jeff's. he had some smaller powder vials that I liked. They were much smaller in diameter and length than the test tubes I am using...like a lot of us. But they were just big enough to hold 78gn of IMR 4198. He said he found them on amazon. Could someone please help me find these. The had a blue cap. I would prefer a screw on cap if possible. Any ideas thanks all drop

Drop, here is one that Moosecry sent. It is 3" long and 1/2" in diameter. The top just slips on, doesn't screw on.

Those are the ones I use. They would hold around 180-200 grains of powder. I like them, but some may consider them too big.

the smaller size lanes tubes hold about 80-100 grns have different color screw tops probably what you mean I have small and large. great stuff. good quality, just have to wipe the inside out with a static cling rag when new. link to lanes tubes

The lanes seem to be what I want I have the large ones and also the test tubes like Kyle showed me. And I like them well . But I am only using about half the volume. And looking to reduce size. Makes it easier to put them in ziplock baggies

Over the years, I've acquired several different types of vials and was not totally satisfied with any of them. Then a member on the other board mentioned a type of vial he uses that is both small and seals completely. I got some and can say that these are top notch: www.pilotvials.com/Screw-Thread-Bottles.htmlI got the one dram size for the main charge and the 1/3 dram size for primer powders. The lids on the 1 dram size and the bottom of the 1/3 dram size got scored with a dremel tool, then epoxied together. The result is still smaller than anything else I've come up with in the past. My CF reloading funnel fits nicely over the mouth of the vials. Seventy-five grains of IMR3031 fills the 1 dram size 3/4 full. It seems that 60gr N120 completely fills the 1/2 dram size, so that one would probably be too small for 78gr IMR4198......it doesn't come with the poly-seal anyway. Stored like you would for powder in the can, powder in the poly-sealed vials will last indefinitely. They don't break easily, either. I managed to drop several of them off my reloading table onto the concrete floor and none of them broke while other types of glass vials have broken in the past (yea, I can be rather clumsy at times).
