Well been running since April and haven't really narrowed down a "Shooter" yet. I have one I'm trying to get better pictures/video of and hopefully in couple weeks I'll find out. I got one camera in a good location and had a great card pull but my dumb butt lost the card before I could check the complete card. Figured I'd start a blog (somewhat) and share what I have saved so far. First bobcat picture. Couple neat bird pictures One I'd like to get better pictures of and see if he'd be something I want to pursue during archery.

Nice looking buck on 7-16, and still has time to grow some more.

That's awesome!!
Last weekend I checked two cameras and one was acting up. I thought I had it too close to the trail/mock scrape I made so I went back yesterday to move it. Glad I did it took 4600+ pictures and then took a poop. Tried to get it to work last night at work but was filled with ants. I believe it is down for the count. I switched the camera with a Primos Proof 2 camera and moved it back a little more to a different tree. I also switched to code blue buck urine the tinks power scrape just really didn't smell like urine. Glad I switched the cameras I'm sure I missed a lot of pictures. In two weeks I'll find out if I have been.
I did get to cameras back in where I got what looks like a shooter buck to get better pictures I'll check them in a couple weeks also.

I had one of my Bushnells that was filled with ants. Thought it was done but still working 3 years later. One thing that has made a big impact in having less camera issues for me is to have two dedicated SD cards for each camera. I do not switch cards between cameras. I colored code the camera and the cards so there is no confusion. In my HD cameras I bought high speed cards to use in them and had a few issues. After talking to Bushnell they had me to go back to standard SD cards and the issues went away.
I quit using all deer scents many years ago and have had better success since. I will say a very good hunter in my club uses them all the time with great success.

Schunter, trail cam pro turned me onto class 10 SD cards and I have had issues with my Browning Strikeforce using a class 10 32g card and switched back to a class 10 8g card with no problems. However with that said I have read of others going back to just standard SD cards again with fewer problems. Thanks for the heads up on the cards. I didn't think of using dedicated cards for each camera, if I start having issues again I'll look into that. I did start switching cameras to lithium batteries and have found the cameras preform better.
I will have to say I haven't had much success with scents either, and why I'm trying them again, guess I'm just glutton for punishment. 😒 Guess I'm just hoping to find something that works and helps.
With all my trail cam running I have found a couple bedding area that I will be hanging a couple stands in. I've had great success sitting in bedding area during the first week of November. Bucks seem to check those all day so I will be sitting all day in those areas.
I appreciate the heads up and love tips that have help others in being successful. Thanks for sharing.

For those who run trail cameras it is very wise you use Lithium batteries. First I found the trail camera actually picked up movement better meaning I had less missed pictures. Both trigger the same amount but the alkaline batteries trigger too late. My one camera that has alkaline batteries had pictures but it had a lot of empty pictures and the transition pictures didn't always use the light to brighten pictures. I need to change batteries in this camera. My other camera had almost zero misses and was picking up everything that went in front of camera. Got a lot of rabbit, possum, and couple fox pictures. Still had deer pictures just nothing worth getting excited about. However my exciting pictures are this bobcat that obviously lives in this area and I will be getting a fur barers license. I thought this might be a young cat but was told when they don't have very many spots means they are usually older cats. Either way thought if I were able to get him/her (he doesn't know what sex he wants to be yet, 😋), he'd look good in my basement by the fireplace.

We are just now starting to see bobcats in my hunting area and the state for the most part. Seen my very first live one two years ago while stand hunting a fence line. I was so excited! Never seen any real predators in my neck of the woods except coyotes. Be a long time before we're able to shoot or take one, they're protected.

Those are cool pics Chad!!! Kill that bobcat when you can! Oh I will be getting a license to hunt the cat. December to February is when it's open. This is what I got in my area: 2017-18 Hunting Season Bobcat Sunrise, Sept. 1, 2017-Sunset, Feb. 28, 2018 Daily limit - 2 No possession limit. Dogs allowed to hunt bobcats during the day. Dogs required to hunt bobcats at night. Bobcat hunting also is open during turkey season during the day, no dogs allowed. Dogs may not be used when deer season is open in a zone that restricts the use of dogs. During youth turkey hunts, only youths may take bobcats. Bobcats may be taken with archery equipment, firearms of any caliber or shotguns with shot no larger than T shot. Bobcats may be taken during spring turkey season with hunting equipment legal for that season.

I've been having really good luck with Bushnell's Essential E2 Trail Camera when they went on sale on Amazon for $84 with an 8g memory card and battery I could pass the deal up. I set this camera up on my family's ground in Iowa where my boy will be archery hunting for the first time. He's got several bucks to choose from couple decent ones however i told him that he shouldn't be picky. Here's one I got with new camera. And one yote, it rained last night pretty hard and explains the picture.

The E2 gets very good reviews but haven't tried one. Good luck to your son on his archery hunt.
