I have been looking at ways to deal with Minnesota's slug zone laws and came up with an idea. I would appreciate any input on it that you gentalmen might have.
Has anyone played with a 375 SOCOM?
How hard is it to shoot a pistol AR?

Have not played with the 375 socom. I've had a couple friends use AR pistols for deer season here in Ohio. They've gone in other directions since. You'd probably be better off with a contender or encore if you're wanting to go the rifle cartridge route. I'd suggest trying to find someone who has a pistol AR and get some range time with it before you commit.
One of my MN friends uses a 30-06 Encore with a red dot. He's taken deer out to about 300 yards with that set-up.
Just my 2 cents...

I used an Encore in 308win this year and was not impressed. I was able to shoot 3 coyotes with it but I feel more comfortable shooting a 460 S&W. I was thinking of talking the bandsaw to the encore barrel till I got the balance I wanted then have a gunsmith crown it. I had a 30 Harret 10" contender I could shoot pretty well but got tired of making brass.
Thanks for the input I'll have to try one out before I commit.

Gotcha, well, ur at least coming from a good spot. I assume that you have the 15" encore. The biggest issue I had with the AR pistols was the fact that the barrel is significantly above the grip, so recoil is less controllable. With a 375 socom, it might be a bit unpleasant. It would provide a quicker follow-up shot than the t/c... LOL If you can try one out, you'll have a better idea. Another option (if you decide to go that route) would be a 6.8. Should be servicable with less recoil.
