Since aquiring a 35 whelen ive been playing with loads 4895 4064 and 4198 ......strange thing about this caliber it shoots all powders equally well . so my question is would one prefer the faster 4198 or would one prefer the slower 4064 or 4895 . what r the pros and cons ?

I prefer 4064 seemed to be the smoothest recoil of any of the powders I tried. Bad thing is those loads were done in the late 80's and don't remember what other powders I tried. I would have to look up exact charge. Projectiles I like are Sierra 225gr opened nice almost always left an exit. I shot a lot of deer running away with hat combo. It is still my gold standard for deer dropping ability. Don't remember blood trailing many deer most DRT. I shot those out of a Remington 7600 so I never went crazy on pressure either.
