I have started making my own plugs so the options are unlimited.
I am building a new bench gun named "Bubba" It is a Krieger 30" straight heavy barrelled Savage target action. I will be doing limited pressure testing with it using much slower powders and heavier bullets. It is fitted with 209, LRMP, AND Direct Ignition systems. I will bring him to the shoot.
My current 28" Savage Brux is now set up for 209, LRMP, and soon Direct Ignition. It will become my primary pressure test gun.
Please bring donations to the shoot. I'm good on primers but powder and bullets would be much appreciated.
Bring your pressure test requests too. I do NOT have Vihtavuori powders so bring yours for testing.
See you at the shoot!

Jerry, I'll donate a sealed 8lb "jug" of IMR4198 for Bubba. Every Bubba needs a jug or two. You're welcome to come get it anytime or I'll bring it to the shoot.

We can always count on Kyle Pittman and Pittman Bullets.
He has donated the vast majority of bullets and powder thus far.
He is in this for the long haul unlike other bullet makers that have come and gone over the years.
We all appreciate you.

scat-any particular powder for request? have some of many & would be willing to donate some if I have it. let me know. Looks like Kyle has covered imr4198 for the foreseeable future (Thanks Kyle) so I suppose the next most consumed powder is likely imr3031. My testing with Bubba will be new ground for most, with heavier bullets and slower powders. I can't really say which slower powders will work best at this point but if anyone has a recommendation I am all ears. We will have to see where accuracy and velocity lead us with the heavier bullets. As a reference, I am looking at loads for the 460 Weatherby Magnum that are running approx 3000 fps with a 350gr bullet. Of course I will run them in quickload first and start lower. Being able to pressure trace will keep me safe as I work up in powder weight. Sorry I got long winded there but some the powders Im looking at for the Bubba project are H380, imr4064, h4895, varget, imr4320, imr3031, imr7828, 8208 xbr, imr4350. Some of those are ball powders which are taboo with a bushing or vent and MUST be used ONLY with Direct Ignition.

This is my first and so far have had no complaints. Hillbill is testing one that sightron sent him for a test mule.

I have about a pound of 10X that could be used for testing in the .40. Not sure about it in a .45

My local gun store carries all sorts of vhitavouri powder.Even N120 (The local smokeless muzzleloader shooters got them to get it). Ive got lt32 and lt30 also. If you need any in particular let me know. My uncle and I may be coming down to the Kentucky challenge in late summer. We are working it out now.

I failed to mention that I have some IMR3031, IMR4350, Varget, IMR4831, and possibly H1000. I'm thinking that we may find loads with the slower powders and heavier bullets that are safe in normal sml's. Also, maybe there will be more of these heavy guns built as time goes on. Anyway, once we begin finding accuracy, velocity, and safe pressures with the heavier projectiles, we may settle on certain powders so for now I don't want to get too much of one powder. Thanks All...
