ok you asked for suggestions. I am not being a smart aleck here so please don't take it as such. These hogs are not stupid...they can't see very well but they can hear and smell like crazy. I have killed 25+ of these things. The guides I have used wouldn't even allow a recurve. Due to the fact that they'd had such a failure rate even with compound bows. They strongly discourage any use of any kind of bow.....not saying it can't be done...just that even the guides don't want to mess with the possibility of failure and then a DANGEROUS tracking job. Ky suggestion would be to convince nice him to use a very large handgun or an adequate rifle....and they don't like anything smaller than a 30/06 . These guys do it for a living. drop

Hog are a very tuff animal.. You can hit a deer with your car and most of the time the damage ain't that bad, hit a big hog with your car and it's like hitting a solid chunk of concrete,, their flesh is completely different, much tuffet than most animals and probably the toughest we have in most of the U.S. But with good equipment and proper shot placement you can kill them...

Not the one I think you are asking about if you mean copper and lead suspended by Type 2 nylon. I have some hog tusks from the very first one I ever killed: I was 16 and I was about 40 minutes from Mexico. The rest I have just boned out the meat and left the heads.

The cutters on that hog are really worn down. I have shot a few in Cumberland area of TN. My son shot this hog in FL. a week before he left for basic. Attachments:
