Hello everyone, I am new to this forum. I am a close personal friend with Deadeye and he recommended that I ask you guys about some possible loads for my Savage Model 12 1:8" in 6.5 CM. I have tested Berger 130's, Sierra 123 SMK and Nosler 123 CC's in this rifle and haven't had much luck. The rifle tends to copper up very bad in as little as 10 rounds. I recently used the David Tubbs TMS system in the rifle to try and eliminate some of the copper fouling. Also, (don't throw stones at me yet) I formed my own brass from Lapua .308 Palma brass and turned the necks to .012". I am using Federal 205M primers and RL17 powder to this point. As a side note, I use Quickload as my reference tool. I did water weight tests between the advertised water volume weight of the Hornady brass and actual weight of several cases of my lapua brass after it was formed. The formed Lapua cases (on average) hold about 1.5 grains less water weight than the Hornady's. I have adjusted my load down like 1.3 grains to hit the same pressure/speed as a stock Hornady case. I'm in the ballpark now. What I am wanting to know is, what powders and bullets, would any Creedmoor shooters recommend. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I have the model 10 in 6.5 creedmoor,it is fairly new still working up a load for the 123 a-max. Have been using r-17 at 44.3 grains. If my chrony is right I am getting a little over 3000fps with the 24 in barrel.Thought it was shooting pretty flat so tuesday I set it dead on at 100 yds ,droped 2 in at 200 and 6 in at 300 so it is shooting pretty flat. Have shot the 140 bergers with H4350 and the 120's with H4350 and IMR 4350 All have shot very good, going to have it bedded and see if the tightens the groups up more. Mine is the 10/110 Predator Hunter Max 1. Shot this group the first time I took it to the range.

awesome group. I am starting to realize that my Creedmoor is liking loads that are more similar to my 6.5x47. The extra case capacity doesn't seem to be an advantage.

It was a gift certificate on the prize table at a rifle match. You could buy up to $2500 in bullets at 50% so several of us pooled our money to take advantage.

Took my Savage 6.5 CM to WY and did the deed on antelope. Went through about 300 rounds for load development and scope work and trigger practice. Found that Hornady 143 grain ELD-X most accurate bullet I tried. Had no measureable difference tween Norma, Nosler or Federal brass. Used CCI LRMP primers and the best loading was with 43.5 grains of Superformance powder. OAL of 2.75 inch. Consistent groups of less than .75 moa out to 400 yd., longest range I could get at the practice facility available. The 143 ELD-X was used by 3 hunters in the group and accounted for 3 antelope at ranges from 240, 320 and 640 yards and gave great terminal performance. Reflects my experiences and opinion, others will differ. 10ga
