Here are some photos from last week's hunt. After three trips over three years I finally got it done and filled both of my tags. Not a Missouri monster, but I'm happy. Especially since I killed both deer with my new Hankins modified Apex. Killed the buck at 237 yards shooting a 250 grain FTX launched with 55 grains of IMR 4198. My rifle is sighted dead-on at 100 yards so I held on the top of the bucks back and the bullet dropped in for a perfect double-lung shot. Also used my Hankins 45-SPML in a blind overlooking a bean field, but didn't see anything to pull the trigger on. The corn field where I killed both deer on consecutive late afternoons had a tree stand and the light, little Apex was a pleasure to hunt with.

Tree stand on the outside edge of a big stand of timber looking out over a cut corn field.
Phone camera zoomed in to see some of the 18 deer feeding last Tuesday late afternoon.

Nice big body buck, not real wide, but decent mass. I'm sorry I didn't lay my little Apex on the buck for the photo.

Mainframe eight with kickers coming off both G2's and several stickers coming off of both bases.

No tag soup this year, my freezer is full.

Here's my big long-range Hankins 45-SPML. Haven't yet killed a deer with it, but it's definitely a shooter when it comes to punching paper off a bench.
After killing my two deer I was invited by the outfitter to goose hunt.

This was mouth watering delicious; marinated goose breast wrapped in bacon and grilled on the bar-b-que.
This was just as good, goose breast wrapped around a slice of banana pepper. Absolutely delicious.

Hey guys, thanks for the kind words. Just noticed that most of the photos are gone, not sure what happened? They were there when I posted.
Anyway, the only thing I enjoy more than hunting is when I actually kill what I'm hunting for! lol
