I've been hunting a piece of public ground near Omaha because I couldn't make it out to western Nebraska this year. Normally I run cameras and check them every couple months but I haven't had time to get them out like I normally do so I've been running them while I'm hunting, glad I have been. This year I tried something new by hanging one of my cameras 12-15' in the air angled down towards a trail on a pinch point. The deer have no idea is there and I got pictures of a mature buck, looks like he might be broken up but still nice. I pulled the camera after today I'm going to focus on hunting now.
I ran a different camera tucked into a pine tree where I hunted Sunday the 4th until 445pm then left because I didn't want to go back up river in the dark. This younger deer showed up right at last light. Since this will be my last weekend getting out if I were to see this buck and because it's public I might just have to fill my tag with him.
At first I hated this Spypoint but now it's growing on me and I'm starting to like it more than my other cameras but the Primos as this time is still my favorite. These newer cameras really work well.
From now on I'll be hanging these cameras 12-15' in the air, deer don't notice them like they down when they are ground level.
