That link works for me but comes through as needing to be a download. Video is of the stack of 5 gallon buckets getting hit. The bullet made it to the back of the 3rd bucket before stopping.

That's a serious piece of artillery!

Looks good! Is the recoil manageable?

Pretty stout looking rifle. Looks like you are getting very good expansion.

Flatlander,
Recoil is hard to describe. I would say it's like shooting an 1-1/4 field load through a 12 ga. The muzzle blast adds a special kind of extra dimension that you almost andlticipate as much as the recoil. When I get the scope I want it should add another 10oz and steel rings. I'll bring it out when I come and you can shoot it.
Right now I am running 2350fps with IMR 4350 and bullets that fall down the tube. Today I am going to try some RL22 and Retumbo to see what the velocity does. I almost don't care as the velocity so far is fine and accuracy is there. I need to get the sizing corrected.
Did that video link deal work? If not does anybody care to help?

O-M-G!! Impressive test!!
Is that the 647gr TSX BT?
Are you going after bison, kodiak, cape buffalo or are you planning on making deerburger in the field?

Bullet is a barnes tsx 647. They are about $1.60 each Tried Retumbo and RL22 and neither were impressive. I don't think the billets are bumping fast enough and at 27.5 usable bbl length I don't think they were a good bet.
RL19 shows serious promise but my IMR4350 load does it all and shoots MOA so I am done load testing.
I blew up 2 more buckets today. Man thats a good time.not sure why something so simple makes me so giddy but it sure does.
Pulled my plug. Approximately 60 rounds. 3 threads in on the plug were dark but the rest was very clean. .035 vent is still .035 as best I can tell with feeler. Modules come out clean. Plug itself cleaned with just soap and water and a brush. No complaints.
This has been some highs and some lows but in the end I'm proud of the finished product. Everything I set out to do has been done and as far as I am able to tell all my ideas have been sound and are being proven as such.
I know it's been said by most of us here but I believe this is my last muzzy build. Been fun but time to throw my money at the next hair brain idea down the pipe.

Looks good. Nice to see other folks building on Savage actions too. Have you tried 50BMG powder yet?

The numbers posted were where I wanted to end up. I'm about 50fps short of that goal and more in line with 8,000#. Perhaps I will gain a bit back when the bullets quit falling down the barrel, this is my first real go at FF.
Pretty sure if I remember Hanks' Cyclopse numbers he is in first place by a fair margin. I don't have any ambition to push for first. As it is now I can't even get 60 shots out of a pound of powder. I thought about taking RL19 up to at or above 2400fps but that would have put me more like less than 50 per pound.
I designed the brake to be used for paper patch and my idea on the large first chamber was to shed the paper before entering the baffles. Well the paper patch plan never worked but it's pretty darn nice reaching through the sides of my brake to align the bullet. Guess it better to be lucky than good sometimes.

Kinda reminds me of the WW4GA in the TK and Mike videos. That is a moose of a muzzleloader. Maybe Jeff will start on the 20mm soon? Be safe and have fun!!'
