Well it's been a week now since we all met at Challenge #5. On Sat night I had a couple bug bites and never thought anything about them....able to sleep. No problem. Then by Tuesday night the bites were REALLY starting to appear. Couldn't sleep We'd,Thur, Fri and Lastnight. INSANE. I seen Doug putting on bug dope . Shoulda paid a little better attention. But I haven't had a chigger bite in YEARS. But man o man I learned my lesson this time. I have about 50 bites from the knees down.( THANK GOODNESS THEY DIDNT GO ANY HIGHER). Been using hydrocortisone and Benadryl with some success today. Was so bad Lastnight I considered going tongue ER. But figured there wasn't anything they could do. Seems better tonight after a shower and cream put on them. I went to our range today and sprayed down with Cutters ....not more chances with them hungry little critters. Next one I will be prepared. Anyone else have any problems with them little rascals? drop

Go pick some wild black berries and see how many you get! Hate those things and nothing much works to get rid of them but wait 2 weeks and they finally go away! Bug spray works pretty good. One year I had them on my back and they blistered-could hardly sleep. I feel for you...lol!

I get them bad just aBout every year. I have a couple friends that do not get them, we can walk down the same trail and I will be ate up and they won't have a bite. I had them so bad 3 years ago I would wake up with blood on my sheets from me digging them while I was asleep. Went to the doctor and they gave me some kind of cream and they were gone in about a day and a half . I hate those things.

Wife & I got them BAAAAD this spring. The little Iowa devils seemed to completely skip the lower legs and start in on the thighs on up to our navals, with concentrations in the pubic area. What a miserable couple weeks we spent until the bites cleared up!!

I battle them little demons every year. Its typical they dont even show for a day or 2, but then the fun lasts for a month or 2. chig away this stuff works about as good as anything, even the army hands it out. Its usually available nearby, most pharmacies carry it

Well, they got me around the shins and ankles. Probably 20 or so. schunter was smart, he put on some bug spray. The itching was not that bad but they sure look ugly.

I got about 50 around the ankles and shinns. A couple the knees and some on the calves. My itching kept me awake for most of 4 nights. Bug dope on the list for next time Drop

X2 way back in my younger years when I was a lineman I was working in KY and had to walk down grown up right of ways to get to the poles, I counted over 175 bites on one leg from the top of my boots down, since I have two legs thats well over 300 bites, talk about miserable.
then there was the time when I had to track a buck through a big grown up field after shooting him in the rain during early bow season, I had them from top to bottom, really bad!
then there are what we call seed ticks down here, (just hatched baby deer ticks), I have many stories about them, before permethrin they were almost impossible to battle..

Permanone I use to get them every year, ever since I spray all my clothes they are a thing of the past. Treatment is good they say for 6 washings but after each washing I re-treat. I have tried everything, The Permanone it seems to have no effect on Deer, at least it hasn't when I had it on my clothes It's pretty good insurance worth every penny. Lou
