Well guys... The 5th Kentucky Challenge has came and gone... We all had a great time and did some awsome shooting... The largest turnout so far with 25 shooters and over 40 attendees ..
I will try and post our score reports later today or tomorrow some time, but I will tell you that we had our best groups ever shot at a challenge and we set some small group records for our range.
I will add some of the photos I took at the challenge. I know some other people took some also and they will be adding photos soon.
Here is Kyle on Thursday night guarding the burgers that we had for supper. And yes there was one left over for Lapua.
Our shelter all decorated with banners,,,,
Kyle looking through the Vortex Razor spotting scope....
A line up off cooler, full of food and drinks. The yellow totes are full of the coking and eating needs.. Pot, pans, knives, plates ect.
The starting of the smoker for cooking the pig/hog/piglet or what ever it was,,,, donated to us by Doug Schartz... Very much appreciated... We only cooked half of the animal and ate only half of what we cooked,,,, So PORK will be on the menu for the spring 2017 shoot s well... I have packed up the unused half of the pig and I have him in the deep freezer for next spring....
A little welcome sign placed at the entrance so the new comers could find us..
The bench line up,,, some serious stuff right here....
A look at some of the rifles that were at the shoot.
Bench line up for some practice
Rob Hartsell and Danny Hicks,,, Hard at work....
Several familiar faces in this photo.... and you can see all the stuff people bring..... I thought I saw a kitchen sink in Phil's car. LOL.......
Ole.. Hillbill getting ready to fire a few...
Emma Lockhart,,,, The only woman to ever compete in the challenge.... And she did quite well shooting a Hankins Custom Rifles Muzzleloader.. Emma finished 13th overall out of 25 shooters.
Phill Juseils, with his new friend Lapua,, Phill shot some relly tight groups and did very good in the competition, Phil was using his own ignition system that uses a crew in module with out a bushing. His rifle was a 270 and he also has one built in a 6.5 mm... Both rifles shot very well. Phill is in a class all his own but still finished 2nd place overall in the total match.....
The morning cooking crew... Always plenty of food at the shoot... Kyle alone brought 12 pounds of bacon....... We must have had 20 dozen farm fresh eggs, biscuits and gravy,,,,, boy we sure do eat good...
And here is Scott Bowers enjoying a plate of Jeff Blakely's home made sausage gravy, biscuits, and it looks like he has an egg on the plate also...
And at the end of the shoot, Sunday morning, mid day..... we are loaded up and ready to head home... As we all leave,, thinking to ourselves.... Can't wait til the next one............
