Been wanting to shoot some IMR 3031 with my 40cal. So I ran some quickloads for the 195g. Barnes. FF me some up and headed out. All shots were 76g. IMR3031 Fed. 209A 1. 3064 2. 3079 3. 3080 4. 3091 5. 3081 No wads were used on this 5 shot group. Don't know why those two grouped together away from the other 3. The 3 cluster was shots 1,2 and 4. The speeds were coming up as the barrel got hotter. About 4 min between shots so no real cool down time. Next up was 3 Custom copper I turned up @ 200 grain FF 1. 3065 2. 3066 3. 3045 No wads on these either, same load as above. Same P.O.I. as the Barnes. I shot 3 more with the load above but with wool wads to see what the groups would do. Speeds were: 1. 3041 2. 3040 3. 3059 The ES was pretty good but the group was about 1 1/2" I then shot for 200yds. only had two Barnes left. Same load as above, no wool wads, the P.O.I. was 1/2" low dead center L to R. 1 5/8" 2 shot group. Joe

Good shootin', Typical!
Really getting impressed with IMR3031. Before it got so hot, testing showed great promise in a .451 and .458 barrel duplexed with both N110 and Green Dot. I think the N110 duplexes are going to win out, though. I don't like sweating all over my rifles, so testing probably won't resume before September.

Nothing wrong with that. The speed is up there too.
