1st trip to the 200yd range for some serious independence day work with the new girl after a very slight rough-in yesterday when bullets were dropping down the barrel(mis- sized) & some set-up problems with the bags due to the stock figuration & such.
today after a bullet adjustment which imo was tighter than I wanted just sent those 3 anyway just to see how this mz would respond to a two hand loading which was not intentional & will go back out with a slightly looser fit in just a bit.
200yds-1st group@.233 I3031-90.0gns bullet - 325 pittman accumax no wad.***my other .45 brux did not like the wadless method & preferred wool wads fwiw** somewhat tight seating resistance two handed down guessing around 60lbs fps-2912,21,09
headed back out since I finally get a chance to shoot.

Wow , that is a unbelievable group at 200 yds. Don't shoot out that barrel before the August shoot.

Ummmmmm...That's insane. Just insane. You have to have just the right gun, barrel, twist, glass, powder, ignition, trigger, weather conditions, and of course a great bench and ability to squeeeeeeze good. Like I said, INSANE.
What's the MOA math on that? A little over .100. Wanna come up the NYS and do some woodchuck killing.

18twist & thx for the comments, adding to what happened after that group.
she spit one in which I was kinda expecting-----chrono read 2948fps
so I had to whittle the bullet down just a tad,1st adjustment did almost nothing so I wasted the nickel-who knows where it landed.
2nd attempt loading was just about right so back to the bench
a .262@200yds
might as well put 3 more on different target>
a .330@200yds
I'm getting worse & my head hurts so I'm putting her up & going for a cerveza!

that thing is a bug hole shooter! only hope my new one will get close to that? otherwise I might as well chase and measure targets. consistent 200 yd groups like that out of the gate is awesome!

You scoundrel, how are we going to compete with that?😠Think I might have to shoot your old gun bill- you can shoot either/anytime even in the friendly match!
for some of those that have not attended the ky challenge might enjoy what a true bench rest set-up is as I do not think it happens often in mz that I'm aware of.
the next pic shows a cloth slid between the ears of the bag-yesterday I had a little trouble with the stock tilting & not completely settle in the bag. the ears just were not tight enough maybe to lack of sand so I placed a thin cloth folded twice & it made a considerable difference the way the stock rode in the rear bag. this stock has much more thinner taper(sharper) on the bottom than my other McMillan stocks.
next up I need to send the bolt off to have it fluted & a custom knob then she will be complete.

The way that thing is shooting I do not know if I would change anything. Biggest 200 yard group is a 1/3 of an inch. Fine centerfires would be hard pressed to compete. Amazing.
