Putting a Bergara barrel on my Encore frame. Never a problem before with TC barrels. The lug pin hole on the Bergara is too tight. Pin will go in about 1/8" each side and gets too tight to push or tap through. How best to polish the pin hole that goes through the lug? Get some fine garnet paper and cutting oil and slowly oil/polish/try/oil/polish/try until it taps in or what? I am not going to "drive" the pin through as that could damage a perfectly good pin. Any experiences, anecdotes and information welcome. thanks, 10

Freeze it and slightly warm the action if its that close....Or slowly polish ...good luck..

Make sure your pin is the correct size.. If it is then you need to polish the barrel lug pin hole, not the pin itself.....

Pin fits the frame great. Also fit 3 different TC barrels/lugs just fine. Just a no go with the hole on the Bergara lug. Yes, that is the deal to polish the pin hole in the lug. 10

Solution report. Got some Vfine paper of 400 or 420 grit. rolled a 4"X4" piece up and then CLP on lug pin hole. Insert rolled paper and polish some. Remove paper and clean hole and try pin. Repeat and after 2nd polish pin went in with easy taps. Nice and firm and no slop. Must have been some burrs or rough mill marks in the hole. Now to go test. It's a 45 ML barrel so I'm going BH209 and sabotless. Will give report when bullet/load and accuracy testing done. 10
