After bore sighting and making initial adjustments. It took about 3-4 rounds to get her dialed in. Fired 7 3 round groups at 100 yards off the bench and Keith fired 1 group from the bench Keith's 100 yards group from the bench. He set the bar high... No big deal, comes up and fires only 1 group and here it is.

I took some shots at a piece of steel at 300 yards messing around. Who doesn't like hearing that positive feedback of lead on steel? Keith suggested we put some targets up at 300 and see how she does. Here is my 300 yard 5 Shot group from the bench

Than we moved to the ground to fire some from prone off a Set Of Atlas Bipods Keith had. Here is Keith's 5 shot group at 300. He did a mil hold for wind on his last shot and pulled it out of the group but still a great group

And here is my 5 shot group from the ground off bipods. I definitely need to work on my technique with loading the bipods as I was not consistant which I believe led to the more vertical dispersion.

Look forward to finishing fire forming the remainder of the brass. I think I will fire the remainder from Bipod to work on technique. We will see what some load development does on the formed brass.

Very nice. Any ideas on velocity and would you mind posting a pic of the fire formed round?
I het Berger sells more of that 168gr .284 than any other hunting vld.

As soon as I get home, I'll take some pictures of a piece of unfired brass next to a fired one

I think velocity for fireforming round is somewhere in the neighborhood of 2900-3000. Here is a picture of the fireforming case. Fireformed case is on left. Unfired case is in the right. Sorry for crappy picture. Basically it blows the sidewalls out just a bit and gives it a little over 3 grains more powder capacity.

Excellent velocity numbers. I expected that there would be more difference in the FF brass. Very nice to get away from the belted cases and still have magnum velocity.
Thanks for posting.

Yeah, I hope so. I need to shoot these through a chrono so I can get Velocity and ES/SD for load development. I would suspect it's closer to 2900. I'm just going off a number a buddy told me. I didn't run it through chrono and I don't have QL

Looks good Mike! Could be the vertical a result of technique/bi-pod on the ground? I have heard of peope complaining about vertical shooting from a lead sled but the way my set up is, the gun is allowed to recoil without bouncing and I get no "up and down?" I have shot my LR 6mmbr XP-100 at the 100/300/500 yard Hickory Ground hog/egg shoot with a bipod but put a smooth nylon board under the legs with a little grease on them. I believe it helps causing the rubber feet to "grab" and kick up which in turn causes the vertical dispersion?

She is a beauty Mike. I would like to build a sml on the T4A or T5A.

Richard, I misplaced my rail adaptor for my Harris. Need to order another one and eventually a set of Atlas. I think I didn't load the bipods consistently. First time shooting with those bipods. I like a challenge so I will work at it until I master it. Scott, I do like that T4A but the T5A I have feels better to me than the T4A at the moment. I'm a fan of thumbhole stocks
