Awesome groups can I ask why you switched powders. I am trying to learn and I have some 275 and some 325 accumax bullets. I don't have a rifle yet but I am trying to understand and learn from everyone on the board.

Generally speaking lighter bullets go with faster burning powders, heavier bullets go with slower burning powders.

That is fantastic shooting Kyle. Is your barrel a 1/18 twist? That last group is amazing

Very consistent Kyle! Was the last group smaller because the barrel had more fouling or was it just the stars aligning better?

Is 3031 what bad bull uses ? like 150 grains or something crazy like that ?I'm pretty ignorant ,does all the added powder increase the recoil , Besides bullet weight ?

Very consistent Kyle! Was the last group smaller because the barrel had more fouling or was it just the stars aligning better? Not sure. I plan to do more testing with 95gr I3031 and my 325 in the near future. I'm sick as a dog right now, eyes watering so bad I can hardly go to work.

Oh, no! That's just how a 3-week bug hit my wife and I! Hope it's not the same as the one that has hit eastern Iowa. Not much on the news about it, either. We blamed it on O's south-of-the-border illegal imports because of rumors about something similar last fall. Lordy, hope it isn't what you have!

I think there is point to where fouling improves the accuracy of these muzzleloaders. I had 15 foulers before I shot group 6. I suspect that after a fouled barrel sets for a long period of time that the fouling changes consistency and may harm accuracy. I experienced this when shooting Blackhorn several years back. Shot my gun, left it fouled for 4 days and couldn't get the sabot down the barrel. Had yo disassemble and clean one opening morning.

I also found the 3031 at 95 gr with your 325 the most accurate.

Try 79 gr of I4198 with the 275, 79 tighten my 275 group up. Only safe in big gun.
