The Barnes TEZ's have plastic tips. Unless Richard can pull 'em off with his teeth those would melt during the annealing process.

lol good point ! I just read about guys annealing copper bullets to help them fatten up . the annealing process renders the copper bullets softer and easier to form...typically full forming.

Doug............my side kick provided the right answers No, I am not pulling the tips. I just give them a hard kick with the Clays. They do like going down the bore with little resistance........You just about want to feel them slightly scraping on the lands. You have to make sure when you are sizing that you have a fouled bore to check them with.

Again thanks guys, Richard and his protege ! Richard i know your high on duplexing and with your results its hard to argue . Do you carry 2 different vials of powder when you hunt or just use a single for back up shots ?

Let me say this Doug.........I have not hunted in a while, actually before I even got involved in smoke less muzzle loading but have hunted all over the US and Canada. A lot of it will LR pistols and have my share of trophies to go with it. But, that being said, I would definitely go with duplex's as back up? Nothing wrong with a singe for a back up but realistically..............how much longer would it take to dump the two charges down the bore? There are lots of ingenious ways to carry your two charges from simply taping two together with one facing the opposite way or soldering a shortened 7/08 to a standard 7/08 or other case combinations with plastic caps on both ends. (This was Jonathan's answer) And when you really think about it, how many times can you recall that you had to "speed" load or you would lose your deer? free adult image hosting

Don't leave a "live" primer in when soldering

Those are the ends they sell at Home Depot/Lowe's that you put on the ends of modular closet shelving. Little protectors for open ends.
