What new builds or setup change are in your plans for the August Challenge. August will be here before you know it... I am going to get my .416 back out and work on some loads. If I can get it to shoot small groups I might shoot it in the match.

Nothing new for me that I can think of... Just going to bring the Widowmaker and get her tuned in for deer season.

I have a lot of tuning to do. never know what I might drag up there and pull the trigger on?
I plan to bring the .375 to play with and the new Tote Em Pole, hopefully I can find a sweet spot for both guns some time this summer.

Don't matter jims............its the food and camaraderie that make the weekend. Unless I have a major breakdown, the Brux will be there. I am contemplating a little redesign on the forend of the stock and maybe I will put in that 1.5 oz. Jewel BR trigger that is collecting dust!

Bestill: Won't that guy lend you his Championship rifle again. I think you actually like building them more than shooting them. I am a bit that way myself but find it hard to get rid of them once I have them, I think that is why I have many. Is that hoarding? I hope to make the shoot sometime but never know for sure. Would be nice to meet other SMLers.

Like Richard said, it's really about hanging out and eating. Don't get me wrong, we all enjoy shooting and do our best to shoot well when we're on the bench, but if it doesn't go well I think most guys just shrug it off and say " Let's eat" lol.
I know you want to shoot your own gun Doug but if it doesn't happen just show up, you are more than welcome to shoot mine.

............its the food ....... that make the weekend. !
X 2 on that for me. I plan to be there and will bring whatever the garden has in abundance.
Hope I can get the new build ready and shooting up to some semblance of a bambi whomper.
Hank, put me on the list for August and I'll send the shoot $ when I send the MLII action for drill/tap of 3rd action screw.
Hopefully I'll be able to kill some groundhogs if I get the project finished in time to really wring it out.
Stay safe, 10 ga

I was hoping my neighbor could make it. He has a 30 pound plus .416 with a 40 inch barrel that has a powder chamber and uses about as much powder as a .50BMG or more. Lighter bullets over 4000fps and heavier still in the mid 3000 fps. I do not want to steal his information in case he attends but it was an impressive firearm, smokeless muzzleloader. Braked of course. Impressive design. I cannot be at the shoot but was hopeful he will be there. Well scoped also.
