Hey guys. I went fishing yesterday and I must say I caught a few. I was after Crappie but didn't do any good for them. I guess I was to late and they have already moved back out into the deeper parts of the lake. I got on the water at 6:30 and was headed home at 2:00. I usually fish with 4 poles mounted on the front of the boat but yesterday I could barely keep up with two. I caught all these fish on my Crappie poles that are 12 feet long super ultra light action and little 1000 series spinning reals with 4 pound test line. Boy let me tell you something.... Its a lot of fun when you hook into an 8 pound blue cat and you have to tire him out for 20 minutes to get him to the boat. I wound up catching 9 catfish, 3 big readear, 30 eatin size bluegill and one yellow perch. I had a few good size readear get off the hook and broke my line twice on big catfish,,,, but over all had a very productive day on the water.... Fixing some of these tonight for supper.........

A mighty fine catch if I do say so! I was never much of a fresh water fisherman Jeff as the ocean was as close as the lakes in NJ. So what do you do with those little itty bitty ones ........I guess I would call the bluegills or sunnies? I have heard some put them in a cheese cloth bag and boil them for fish stew?..........Man I hate bones in those little fish. Nothing like a 50 to 60 lb. yellowfin tuna and you cut it up into steaks with absolutely no bones. Their bones are so big they are a non-issue. And the smaller flounder we get inshore just fillet right off of their rib cage, so to speak and hence no bones. I have caught my share of trout and I always get involved in those tiny bones.......UGG! Hope the back is feeling better!

That's some good eating there. I have always filleted the bluegills along with everything else (except trout).

Looks like a great day. Caught some gills and a bunch of bass the last couple of days. Released them all cause I was to lazy to clean them.
