I decided to make a road trip today and visit the Dead Zero Shooting Park in Spencer Tennessee to test the new Aeromax .402" 350's. The temperature was 45 degrees and the elevation was 1840' above sea level. RL16 was the powder tested today for my overbuilt Hankins .40 with the Original Hankins Ignition System. My test rifle has a 1 in 13 twist rate and the Aeromax .402" 350's are 1.730" in length. Powder charges listed here are not recommended by myself or Pittman Bullets for your gun. I feel they are safe in my gun but may not be in yours. First up was 106gr RL16 with a Eastern Maine wool wad at 100 yards. Average muzzle velocity by Labradar for 5 shots was 2908FPS and the average 100 yard velocity by Labradar was 2762FPS. Group was an enlarged hole. Next I moved out to 600 yards moving up in charge to 107gr RL16. Average muzzle velocity was 2893FPS and the average 100 yard velocity was 2749FPS. The 5 shot group was decent at 4.63". Lastly I moved on out to 1000 yards with 108gr of RL16. The average muzzle velocity was 2907FPS and the average 100 yard velocity was 2761. The 5 shot group was not bad at 8.22". Cant explain the drop in velocity on the second string's muzzle velocity. The bullets seemed to load easier with each loading as the day went on. Taking all 15 shots into account, the average muzzle velocity was 2903FPS and the average 100 yard velocity was 2757FPS. Preliminary testing reveals a BC of .625G1 and .320G8. Below are screen shots of the tablet for the 600 yard and 100 yard targets. I forgot to take one of the 100 yard. Next time I plan to test some powder slower burning than RL16.

Kyle sent me some eye candy of those 350’s if I were not happy with my 325’s and didn’t order another 100 just prior to season I’d be playing with them. I imagine in a year or so I’ll be shooting the 350’s.

looks like the main goal was collecting data for a true bc on this bullet, however the groups turned out great also!
with 3 different powder charges(106,107,108) & a slight dip(fps) in the 107 charge...………………….>
I think I would after playing with other powders & such,i would return to fine/fine- tune this combo to see if you can shrink the groups even smaller.
the shotmarker is a must in your business!
good shootin & keep up the great work!

Excellent results Kyle. Looks like the wind conditions were favorable and/or steady. If there were only some competition at 600 or 1,000 yrds, I would be building one in an instant.

The shot marker system will be in my future one day. Dead Zero provides the electronic target system, shot marker, currently for 100, 600 and 1000 yards. I like the features it offers for sure.
