How hard would this build be?

I am pretty handy. I have never assembled an AR although I have my share of lowers and was thinking of this as a first build. My biggest concern is cutting barrel at gas ports. I am not sure if a person can buy an AR barrel that doesn’t have gas ports. It seems you would need a portion of a recoil spring. I was thinking of making this my first build.
