Anyone tried sous Vide cooking? I got one last Christmas from my beautiful wife and love it!!!! Salt and pepper (liberally) 1/2 venison backstrap, vacuum seal and place in water. Set sous Vide to 145 degrees for 2 hrs. Once initial cooking is complete, remove from vacuum bag, pat dry, and start a couple tbsp olive oil and 2 tbsp butter in a hot skillet, once hot, seat on all sides and serve sliced with green beans and mashed potatoes. Life will never be the same!!!!

Absolutely the best way to fix a steak! My culinary instructor has taught me so much and his favorite is sous vide. He has greatly improved my skills! (I’m in school admin and was fortunate to hire a real chef to teach high school level culinary classes. Right now he has a whole deer that I quartered, he butchered and vacuum sealed that we’ll use for staff functions!) Check out the redneck version. www.fieldandstream.com/articles/hunting/2014/10/recipe-redneck-venison-sous-videBy the way is this the Roscoe Bestill that I see posting on SML boards?

Sorry for the confusion.
Roscoe Bestill is credited with the photo in the Field and Stream article. There is a bestill458 username on this board and bestill on the other board. It just dawned to me that the names are strikingly similar.
