The lightest Accumax .402 is 1.27" long and i highly doubt it will shoot in slower than a 1-22. Slight chance in a 1-24 but i doubt it.

Its not the weight its the length. Them Dead Center are shorter. 1.27" long is very long for a 40cal bullet. 40-250gr Fury is barely under an inch long.

Not only does projectile weight come into play when choosing twist rate, more importantly comes the consideration of projectile length. 1 in 22 would probably be the slowest twist for the AccuMax .402” 225 get to stabilize.

And the slower it shoots the faster the twist needed.

What is the length of the 40-225gr not including the tip? JBM's tip variable is for plastic so its not 100% reliable when talking about aluminum tips.
