I looked at the rimfire scopes, in my opinion a truly good .22 scope should be parallax adjustable. A scope set for 75yds won't shoot a good group at 25yds due to parallax. A good gun can out shoot the scope at yardages under 75. Yep, pretty much what Richard said above. That scope is designed for a general purpose Rimfire setup for hunting. We don't often see any parallax issues until the nitty gritty starts and I start punching numbers on my Keno cards.

Trevor When I was chatting with Jon he said the new scope would be FFP, I tried to tell him he is missing the vast majority of Hunters/Shooters, yes the tactical guys do the FFP thing but the rest of us? the is a real need of another 30mm 2nd FP scope with good features and a good bit of adjustment that doesn't weigh a ton, something to compete with the SHV, Huskemaws and the like. your thoughts?

He may have been holding a little bit back... There are some prototypes that have been going through testing that will fit that bill quite nicely. But, a few new releases are expected end of year and early January/February. Trevor TRACT Optics www.tractoptics.com

Just as an update the scope i installed on my Apex now has about 30 rounds of 325s @ 2500 avg and all is well, I really like the clarity, eye relief and reticle. tracking has been spot on as well but it's still a baby with so few rounds down the pipe.

Up to 60 rounds now, this last round of 19 shots was with 300s @ almost 2700 fps, while recoil is not brutal it does get your attention. scope is still doing fine, no hiccups yet.

How about an illuminated reticle or center dot? We currently have the Toric which does come with a second target style exposed turret which does have a zero stop feature. That comes with any Toric, but can be added to the Tekoa scopes as well. As for the illuminated option....our next release will wet your appetite in that arena... Trevor www.tractoptics.com

I realize this is a old thread but i got to say the Turion 3x9x40 looks great for a reasonably priced SML scope that aint a pig. When i upgrade my NULAs Redfield i think i will have to try the Turion. That 2x10x42 looks really sweet also but i can get a Razor HD LH for about the same price and it weighs less. My NULA is strictly a light weight hunting rifle and i put a premium on weight. My loads in that rifle are not nearly as hot as the 45cal SML but it still thumps pretty good at around 7lbs scoped. Up to 60 rounds now, this last round of 19 shots was with 300s @ almost 2700 fps, while recoil is not brutal it does get your attention. scope is still doing fine, no hiccups yet. So did it ever burp, fart or hiccup?

The silent response of my last question does not sound like it turned out very well.

I have it on a different gun now, (22 rim fire), it held up fine but the tracking sucked, pretty good optically and stays put once you get it there but I can't depened on it to dial with.

Well, thats a bummer because for the current price you can get a SWFA SS 3x15x42 FFP for $700. The Toric now is about $750 for the 3x15x42 and $700 for the 2x10x42.

There are definitely better options out there in the price point, I will not buy another.

After reading through the threads, I have quedtion. What does one consider a midrange scope price ? What I may consider midrange some may consider top end. So just curious what ones opinion is. Thanks Danny

I would consider mid range 400-800 dollars, some might consider 600-1200? Thing is most budget priced scopes simply will not work well on these guns, there are exceptions, some have said x brand of scope has held up to x number of rounds without a problem, I have never had good luck with the cheaper scopes, I have killed MANY mid- upper end scopes on these beasts.

hillbill if you don't mine me asking what scope are you using on your SML? I have a leupold VX6 3x15 so far is holding up on my 45 SML using benchmark and 300s. Jeff is building another 45 SML for me and I can not decide what glass to use. I spend a lot of time deer hunting and have found the VX6 not to be great glass in low light conditions.
Thanks

Nightforce are well worth the money for these SML all the way around and for other rifles , understand the $ amount may be considered HIGH but you only need to purchase one time. I will be departing with one of my NXS, this one is a 3.5x15x50 MOAR illuminated with ZEROSTOP that has never been set, pulling it off my 7mm08, its been to the range and to the tree stand about 4 times no marks or dents perfect shape box and all. My sell will be a gain to someone,

I want to purchase a nightforce for the bolt gun Jeff is going to build the reticle I see that I like is in the SHV line. I think its called force plex anyway just a plain set of cross hairs illuminated would be nice. I wish they had it in the NXS line. Will the SHV line hold up like the NXS??
Thanks
