Does anyone know anything about GLFA AR15 uppers? Been doing some research, and have not heard of them before. I know there are a thousand manufacturers of AR15 parts and uppers, so looking for input, good or bad.
Thanks for any info!

Great Lakes Firearms and Ammunition. They're based out of the grand rapids area in michigan... seems they've made stripped uppers for a little while, but this may be their first foray into complete uppers.
The reason I'm asking is this: Ohio has finally decided to legalize all straight-walled cartridges (rifle) between .357 and .50 for deer gun season. Without going to an AR10 platform (45 raptor), the best ballistic round for the AR platform that meets those regs appears to be the 450 Bushmaster. They have some available for a reasonable price. Most others are backordered/sold out. Not sure if these would be a decent option or not. May take a chance...

gd357 my son and i have two of their 18" bushmaster barrels and we love them shot a lot of deer with them last shotgun season in Iowa. Iowa is just now coming on board with pistol caliber rifles best move they have made in years. www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1595929360513316&set=pb.100002888021412.-2207520000.1538932406.&type=3&theaterThe top AR is the 18" the bottom one is a 12.5 inch pistol which is my favorite 450 bushmaster. the zombie green is something i did messing around one day in the reloading shed i striped off the anodizing on the hand guard and re anodized it zonbie green the lower is an 80% i milled out and anodized also. the 12.5 " pistol barrel was made for me by deadshot barrels they also will sell you a bolt to go with the barrel as a set great bunch to deal with. Sorry for the late reply.

I'm also pondering putting together an AR with a 450 Bushmaster upper. The extremely low prices for AR parts right now it's certainly a good time to do so. Also being an OH resident. It would make a decent hunting rifle for the kids. A build having an adjustable stock. Coupled with the reduced felt recoil of a gas gun and plentiful selection of 45 caliber pistol bullets to feed it. Might be just the solution for what to do with one of the stripped lowers I've been sitting on.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'll end up with one. Right now you can get a complete 18" upper for $399 on armslist/gunbroker.
I guess the change jar is gonna get emptied out again... LOL
