Putting together couple bowfishing trips for this spring and summer. I'm not a bowman but son-in-law is and the friend that is going to provide archery outfitted boat also. For the heavier fish we are targeting what is good reel rig to go on bow? And which head for the arrows? Tommy says the snakeheads and catfish are really tough on equipment and the large carp too. Any recommendations on reel and head type welcome. We will be in the tidal influenced middle and upper Rappahannock and Potomac rivers east of I-95, Thanks, 10

I agree with riverrat on getting a cheap bow because they take a beating. Lower draw weight is also nice in target rich environments. I always liked Muzzy heads due to the trocar type point seems to shatter scales vs get stuck in them. When I have used a cone type it seems I bring back scales a couple times a day. These cone type heads are effective on all other types of fish I have hunted.
