problem is the Cuban Hillbilly is an old dried up remnant of what once was and just not quite up to jump spin kicks and foot races these days, yes, still pretty fast for an old fart but no match for a young man....
would love to see you there Keith along with Mike too, maybe you guys could teach us some gun manners, I need some schooling....

Keith, Bill is a runner too and pretty fast....Might want to consider CS gas or some other devious trick :-) Mike Mike, I'll make sure I bring a full kit bag. He wants you to come too, so if you help I can run him into a bated ambush. Bill, Sounds like I don't have to try to fight you to knock you out of the competition. I'll just ask for a karate demonstration and hope you pull something so that you have to park it in the Univ. of T chair of yours. I don't bring a lot else to the table here, just heckling. I can kind of shoot from a bench but I shoot off my belly a whole lot more and I'm pretty good at shooting from weird positions. I feel fairly certain those who keep their table manners polished would beat me. I would just pray for wind, the gusty and switchy sort. I would love to attend but I can never predict with any degree of certainty if that will happen. I may have to get the relationships here stood up in onesies and twosies. I met Mike first, talked to you, bestill, and Deadeye on the phone some, and finally met 45omega last week while I was in Maryland. I still want to face to face with a few of y'all so I may just have to call as I'm passing through. Mike knows first hand not to count on anything I say; I can't tell you how many times I've asked him if a particular date was good to visit and then had to cancel. One of these days I'll pull it all together.

My question is about the gun on the left: It looks like it is sitting in an MDT chassis. Is that its permanent home and what did he think of shooting it in that chassis? Did anyone else shoot it? Cole just put an SML in an AI 2.0 which may balance out and they handle recoil pretty well but I'm curious about how the gun in the light weight chassis handled and managed recoil.

FYI, Keith. When Bill shows up to the shoot he carries 3 guns with him. One in hand and 2 hidden under his shirt sleave.

The gun on the left was built for Wayne as a barreled action only.. The when I told Wayne about the Kentucky Challenge he wanted to come, so at the last minute I told him if he had a short action stock I could drop the barreled action in he could shoot it at the Challenge.. So he stripped this stock off a nother rifle he had and sent it to me.. A little barrel channel work and I got it in and mounted the scope a few days before the shoot.. Wayne flew in from Miami Fl. and shot it for the first time on Friday evening.. I bore sited it and shot it twice before I handed it over to him.. He wound up taking third place out of 20 shooters so I guess the stock works pretty good.. Recoil is mostly manage by the muzzle brake.. The thing I don't like about the stock is the forearm is real narrow and not much to hold on to,, it also was built for use with a magazine that it not being used set up as a ml gun.. Wayne is planning on getting a different stock and adding a ram rod to the gun.. This will probably be done after hunting season..
Overall,, the stocked worked well.. Also it was not bedded,, just bolted in and that's it..
Jeff.

Yeah, I read what place he took. Chassis guns usually shoot decent, given all other parts are decent too, and don't require bedding. I was curious mostly about the stock because weight plays a pretty big role in recoil and balance. I've shot that buttstock on 12ga guns and is like fighting Tyson.

bill is a very fine shot-iirc usually hovering around 3rd-5th place in these comp's-very,very, very respectful. we have talked karate,guns,temps/mz loads & I always enjoy shooting the bs with him-a great man & I admire him along with many others.
in these shoots you will find no negative's imo & a great helping hand from any of our board brothers-that's what I like & keeps me coming back.
me I'm too old & withered to fight/don't want to & avoid any chance too but 20yrs ago........................................

Jeff,
I'm kidding about any fighting. Everyone likes to pick on the big guy. I haven't been in an avoidable fight in probably 10 years. I'm just saying if we do it right he could be a real solid 10th or 12th place shooter. Since I think they rode together, if we time it right, we could get a two for one deal and get Kyle too.

yea I offered for kyle to stick his trigger finger in the hot skillet but I don't think that would alter his groups

My partner got his trigger finger smashed in an AR10 last week (one of the gun models had faulty trigger design and had to be single fed so we was loading while the other guy shot) so he shot the rest of the day with his middle finger. Still shoot better than most.
