Well our NY season has come and gone . Even tho i only connected with an average doe with my 700 Brux i had a blast ....encounters , misses there all part of the process and lasting memories and experiences . The best part was having my son drop the buck he had been after all season was just icing on the cake . Hope you all had fun thats the main thing safety and FUN!

I think, any time we get to spend in the woods or with youngins are successful times, what a way to enjoy life.I still have Jan 7-10 ml season here in Ohio, but have had good success between 3 states.

Seeing my daughter take a doe at 418 yards was the highlight of my hunting season.

I cant complain about the season I have had but still get upset about the buck I wounded and couldn't find! I will hunt the week after Christmas and try to put another doe in the freezer. I have taken deer with three different SML's and enjoyed every minute of it.
This is the second complete season that I have not used a center fire rifle and have no plans to do so. My Sendero in 7mag is just sitting in the safe gathering dust and that was my favorite for many years.

My season has been less than stellar, I took 5 with the Ike gun, the last a doe last night @ 49 yds, reacted like being hit by lightening, all with Kyle's Aeromax bullets, the last two with the .030 version
I sat in the tree this morning with my bow seeing nothing but a button buck just wishing that a fat doe would show, yesterday morning no deer at all.
I rejoice in the fact that I can still get out there and climb trees, draw my bow and hump a 16+ lb gun to the box, on occasion I even get to drop the hammer, life is good!

I have yet to connect solidly on a good buck (yet) this season,I still have Jan. 7-9 ml season.I agree anytime I spend in the woods in a tree is all a blessing.Keep on climbin'.

Pretty tough season for me in Western NY. First time in 24 years I didnt take at least one deer and only the second time since I started as a teenager. I spent most of the early bow season in and out of the hospital. Had my sixth stent put in my heart. But I did get out later in the bow season and passed a small buck and saw 2 really good bucks. One was an absolute brute. I was on the ground scouting a new area and he was only 12-15 yards behind me running does and grunting. Never got a shot. But really exciting. Gun season was tough. Passed 1 shot opening day and next to last day of muzzleloader had a chance but was not sure of the range and didnt have my range finder. In hindsight probably could have made the shot. But just like hillbill I feel blessed and just grateful to God with my medical issues I can still get out there and do it. Merry Christmas evreryone. And good luck to all those who still have some season left.
