I had 3 hogs that were from 250 to 350lbs and a 160lb est. weights come in on me at Eglin AFB the other afternoon....The small one gave me a broadside shot at 30yds...I made a good shot ,I thought ...clipped the back of the shoulder ,pass through....He ran back up and stood with the others for around 5 minutes and didnt move....The largest hog made his way behind me until he got wind and ran back up to the others and they All ran back up the hill where they came from....I climbed down and looked to see if there was blood where the little one stood....Nothing,not a drop....I looked for it to no avail....I hate losing animals and this is the second hog I have not recovered with a bow.....From now on I'm going for the neck/spine shot or passing....These four hogs have been seen by other hunters and they are truly this big....Gun season starts Thanksgiving Day so maybe someone can Kill one of these monsters....The hogdog hunters have had 4 of their dogs killed by either these hogs or one Boss hog thats even bigger....Wow

You are right they are tough, like they have armor plating for shoulder blades.

Best bet with a bow is to use a very heavy arrow in the 650 Plus grain range. Also, you will do better shooting a cut-on -contact 2 blade head. Or even a Razor Trick type head. Avoid Mechanicals on big hogs. Waist of Time!!!! Better penetration is a MUST. I dare to say u only got 2-3" of penetration. The hide/shield is thicker than 3"

The hide/shield is thicker than 3" Since I only clipped the front shoulder ,I was able to get complete passthrough....The arrow has deep scratches on the entire length of it. I am shooting the NAP HellRazor 3 blade onepiece broadhead....I'm aiming for the neck if I get another shot at one of those four-legged armored eating machines...lol...

Kill zone slightly smaller on hogs than deer. Must be tight behind the shoulder. Quartering away is always best. Neck isn't recommended unless using rifle. Bigger hogs will require heavier archery Setups. For reliable kill shots.

You will certainly not find the hog if you shoot it in the neck unless you hit spine or cut the esophagus!! I have shot 4hogs all 150-175lbs with a 60lb draw 585gr arrow with a C.O.C broadhead furthest a hog went was 75yrds and fell over dead!

Where did you hit them and what angle were they to you ?.....With a bow I havent been able to put a hog on the truck....

Broadside & quartered away tight to the shoulder! You need a sharp broadhead in my opinion the only broadhead that is sharp enough out of the package are german-kinetics broadheads! Any others will need some sharpening and hogs are tough if you puncture both lungs they are done! Heavy arrows,15%+ f.o.c,and scary sharp C.O.C broadhead

I personally won't pay $30 or more for a German Kinetic. I have killed hogs with Thunderheads, Slick Tricks, and Muzzy. But a Cut on Contact will penetrate better as will a 2 Blade head Like the Magnus Stinger. As Bowhunter365 said too, heavier arrows with F.O.C. Over 15% Will penetrate better and retain momentum.

I agree that any quality broadhead will work my point was that they are not sharp out of the package and will require some sharpening I like a razor sharp head! Also I agree german-kinetics are expensive although the steel is top quality and I have shot 4 deer and a black bear with the same head I just resharpen it and use it again! Good luck

I have no experience with hogs but I have researched lethality of archery equipment a lot. If you were not getting pass threws I'd say try Tuffheads, but since that is not the case. Try a Simmons Tree Shark. I was absolutely amazed how effective they were. His method of sharpening works well and they cut holes in whitetails you can stick your hand in. Traditional archers are not being deceived like compound shooters are. The Ashbey studies are talked about not shunned or thought of as total overkill in traditional circles. I am planing on using Centaur Archery's Battle axe next year. If you are not wary of touching your broad heads they are not sharp enough. I have not found a broadbead that is sharp enough out of the box to hunt with.
