I mounted a 2.5x17.5 S-tac for a friend who is headed to Colorado Wed eve and on shot number 6 the side focus went out, it will no longer focus, we will see how well they stand behind their product, I told him to insist they overnight him a replacement? we will see how they handle it. makes me nervous about mine now
I was shooting a 300 win mag with 180s but that shouldn't matter.

Wow that is not good.I had a similar thing happen to me with a Nikon, called them sent it overnight to them and had it back within 7 days,I had 1 day to re-sight,but when you need it in 2-3days that is straight bad luck.Whats up with quality control/shock testing?

I'm sure they'll stand behind the product but over-nighting is another story. Your friend may end up paying for the next day shipping.

well it's a long story but Sightron sent a new S-Tac for replacement for the one that the side focus went out on, all is well. thanks to Allen in customer service for coming through for us.
I ended up putting my S-Tac on his gun as he was headed to Colorado for a whitetail hunt so they sent me the new scope.

we will see if the side focus thing was just a one off or related to the whole series but I really like this scope, it's bright with no tunneling on the low end and no fuzzing on the high end. I really like the reticle and the single dot illumination, the 2.5x17.5 would be hard to beat for a long range do all hunting scope.
