So I picked up some varget today so I had more powder to try in my 243. I've already got 87 VMAX for my 243 loaded up with 4350 however the powder is almost gone. I wanted something to use that would work for both bullets and guy at the store recommended varget. He gave me a copy out of a book for a place to start however I'd like to hear if anyone else has used varget for both 87 and 105 Amax.
I have a Remington 700 SPS Varmint with a 26" barrel and 1-9 1/8" twist fyi.
Not sure it will stabilize the 105 I've read both ways depends on gun.
Thanks for any input.

I don,t have a 243,but sometimes with my 7mag 1in 9 1/2" twist with the longer or heavier bullets it shoots better seated back a little farther. As much as .050 back.A friend of mine uses the varget in many of his rifles,I have only heard good things about it.

I shoot Berger 87 grain and 105 grain. bullets out of my Brux 243 1-8 twist and it shoots them fine. Nothing hurts a try but a failure Every gun shoots different

Have a rem 243 which I think the twist is 9 1/8 and a ruger with a twist of 9.0. The ruger will shoot the 105 a-max but the rem won't shoot them.Neither will shoot the 105 match bullets. I use IMR 4350 at 42 grs with a cci200 primer and get 2965 fps. Took this deer at 168 yds few years ago with this load out of the ruger. Was aiming at the eye.
