Fantastic looking rig. That lacquer really is easy to make slick. I spray it a lot on furniture, etc. Make sure your hands aren't sweaty because it may jump out of them.

Due to the warm weather and high humidity Jerry, I had to add a lot of retarder to keep the paint from getting that "milky" look! It allows the moisture to come out before the paint skins over. Lots of body shop years spraying that stuff!

Beautiful I wish I had the ability to do something like that I'm a wood butcher, and even worse with metal. LOL

Richard,
Wow the gun came out fantastic, if she shoots 1/2 as good as it looks you'll have a winner !!!
Best of luck, I look forward to the range results.

Thanks for all the nice comments guys. Yeah, they can look real sharp but not shoot either? Back in the 60's they would say: "If if don't go, chrome it!" I have had good luck with the Brux barrels both in the muzzle loaders and my CF 6mm match rifles so hopefully that will help. Hank's system has been well proven so I have no doubt that will work. Now it will be up to me to determine if I go with the flow on loads or tinker with other combinations. I know Scat had a post on fast boosters causing a problem so taking his advice, I might experiment with a duplex using a slower booster like maybe Unique, N-110 or 4759? I still think H or I 4198 will be the choice for the main charge. 3031 has possibilities but you have to use more to get to the same velocity as 4198 and more powder equals more recoil? This system will open up a whole new format for testing. I still have no doubt that a proper working/sealing 209 system with the right load (duplex for me) will accuracy wise, shoot right along with the HIS. On the other hand, I like the ability of Hank's system to seal and avoid sticky primers. As far as my riding partner schunter?...........He will have to spend more time at the range and less time hunting:)

Jeff's system works very well with singles, I see no need for boosters but who knows? when I get Ike suited up in work clothes and a new Sightron I'm going to compare some 3031 and 4198 loads. 3031 can reach some very high speeds with relatively low pressures with heavy bullets.
I'm sure Richard will let us know how the 209 loads vs HIS compare and that in itself will be very interesting. Richard will be a bear at the next shoot, we better get some practice in guys

I get three shots of practice with every rifle I build.. Haven't shot my own gun since the shoot.
Richard has just stepped into a new dimension for testing and shooting new loads... Rich,, I'll spot you for the first five modules you blow, just to see what it take to swell the pockets..

I re-read the first few exchanges of conversation between Scat and Hank and get the point on the .040" bushing letting more pressure back to the module. Now maybe I would be defeating the purpose of the HIS system if I went with one of my .026" bushings and lets say.........a plain ole' LR primer (delete the magnum) and yet still use the duplex to get a "better" burn or better accuracy? Not saying it will but it could? I say this because my duplex loads have proven fairly accurate and have been giving me, by and large, pretty good ES's? Which could be attributed to an efficient burn on the powder. So, yes, lots of stuff to play with. BTW, just finished up another HIS install on one of Jonathan's rifles. ( I had picked up two plugs and modules for him at the spring shoot?) He had a friend and gunsmith install the first one but the guy takes too long. I turned his second one around in three days! Plus, he had bought the taps and counter bore which I got to use on mine.

I have a long ways to go to compete with you guys! schunter, I'm with you on that one, as much as I love to hit the bench I can't wait to be in the woods. I too have a lot of "catch up" to try and hold my own with this group. Good luck this season.
