The powers that be are considering having a sml sshoot at there range as a special event late September early October. Be possibly paper match 100-500 yds at 100 yd increments. Who would consider coming?

Bestill, The friendship shoot sounds like some fun. How many shooters of all muzzleloaders combined would you say are there on average? How many of those are shooting inlines? How many inline classes are there? Just wondering what to expect.

The ideal is in the infancy stage but they are willing to listen to the ideal. The way the inline match got its start was by having a few matches at nmlra range amd showing them a safe quality match and it has grown well . So my feeling is that if a sml match was put on as a independent match and showed promise and a safe match the leadership would recognize the promising future. I will be discussing this more with fellow shooters at ky shoot to come up with some guidelines and desired match layout and possible dates.
Kyle there was i think over1,000 shooters at spring nationals and probably70-80 what we consider inlines and dozen custom inlines. I believe7,000 targets were scored. We compete in 7 different matches which allow jacketed bullets. There is no smokeless period at nmlra range but there is a open ear willing to talk. The facility at friendship is a awesome range.

I would try to make it, the weather will still probably be to hot to hunt the beginning of October. I like stretching my muzzleloaders out to midrange shooting, the farther the more fun...

I could do the second half of September. I have some leave I have to use before the fiscal year rolls over or I lose it.

why not schedule that and the next Kentucky challenge on consecutive weekends. This way I could round trip em and make both. Plus for that kind of travel, 2 venues has a stronger pull than one.

I would be interested in going to the Friendship Shoot, just not back to back with the Kentucky Challenge. Two weekends in a row may be doable for some or most, but not me. Bestill, I appreciate your communication with the people at Friendship. I like the idea of stretching it out to 500. See you all in a couple of weeks!!!

The KY shoots sound like more fun, more personable, and better organized (with home cooking and campfires). If another shoot took away from attendance at that it would not be good. I want to eventually go to a shoot that has most of the Dougs guys. I wouldn't want to see competing shoots with arguments as to which is better. Hank started the shoot. I say stick with his shoot and keep it a once or twice a year treat.

This friendship shoot ideal in no way is intended to take away from what Jeff is doing in ky. And i dont believe arguments over whose shots are better will be a issue. Will be a professionally ran shoot and score would speak for itself. I kinda felt another shoot would be good for sml and 500 yd range would be nice.

bestill458: I stand corrected, not that I knew what I was talking about to begin with. I've never been to any kind of shoot, let alone a professionally run shoot. And if they had a 1,000 yard target, that would be cool. Or is the longest they shoot 500 yards? I'll stop talking since I just dream of going to these things anyway.
